Online marketing is war. This war is fueled by the fleetingness of the Internet, the large choice consumers have and the ease of comparison. Search engine marketing is the biggest battlefield within online marketing because an investment requires a lot of knowledge and can yield a high return. Therefore, there is a lot at stake and competition is huge: after all, 90% of search engine users only look at the first search results page. In this article, I want to analyse the battlefield by mapping the problem areas, and offering solutions as well. For my analysis, the two warring parties are two types of websites: the providers and the affiliates.
